Golding Forest House
Part of a larger family complex, the Golding Forest House is an addition/renovation designed to be the linchpin of a broader project intended for long term family use and environmental resiliency. Sitting squarely in the center of a 1/2 mile square plot was a 600 square foot, off-the-grid cabin built by the previous owner. At the height of land for the parcel, the building site is characterized by exposed ledge and dense evergreen forest. Not sufficient for full-time occupation, it was clear that the original cabin would need to be replaced or expanded, so a long term plan was created to develop the property alongside the day to day life of the homeowners.
